Dr. Clementelli’s primary treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), solution focused (brief) therapy (SFBT), as well as approaches utilizing contemporary positive psychology. Her scholarship and research has involved projects in forensic psychology (e.g., the social psychology of criminal treatment and incarceration), cognitive psychology (e.g., the effects of sleep on memory), and the psychology of executive families (e.g., the impact of absent parents on the emotional adjustment of children). She also has a significant interest in the power of faith and values as internal motivators and strategic intervention in close relationships and personal growth.
Dr. Clementelli is also a certified national trainer for Mental Health First Aid USA. She provides training to community members in Marin County and the Silicon Valley. This is the 8-hour course involving skills for identifying risk factors, warning signs, and providing initial help to people experiencing mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, eating and substance use disorders, destigmatizing mental illness and educating mental health literacy. Participants attended the entire course will receive a certification toward the end.
